The Craigellachie Scottish Dance Band
Ian Muir formed his own band in 1986, having played for fifteen years with McBain's Band. Musicians playing in the band in the early years included Alan Humberstone, Barbara Manning, Maggie Fletcher, Ian Robertson and Judith Robertson. It was with Ian and Judith that the band recorded its first LP, closely followed by “Encore” in 1988 and now joined by Graham Hamilton on drums.
Since its inception the band has continued to be well received both in the UK and abroad, including tours to Germany, France, Luxembourg, Spain, Holland, New Zealand, Australia, Oman, Shetland.
The band regularly plays for dancing in London and the South East and were honoured to be invited to play at the AGM Ball of the RSCDS in Aberdeen in 2012. They have also played for other related events including the Scottish Tattoos at the Royal Albert Hall.
