When the Caledonian Society of Oman first invited Craigellachie to come over to Muscat and play, the first question was, where’s Muscat?! A few minutes later and with the aid of Google maps that problem was solved, the next problem was trying to organise a date which proved slightly more tricky. And it was at the third attempt that finally Craigellachie made the trip over to play for the St Andrews Dance.

Oman is a beautiful country full of contrasts, from the Wahiba desert sands and fishing villages of the coast south of Muscat, to the luxurious palaces and the blend of East and West in the nations capital. For a few days or more of off-road adventure the mountains and wadis are exceptional.
All we can say is that it was well worth the trip. Chieftan of the Caledonian Society Gary Manners looked after us impeccably and the 400 plus crowd were up dancing all night.
